Overview

Precision nutrition for horses and specialty species

Better recovery between training sessions, improved reproductive outcomes for breeding mares, and stronger skeletal development in growing foals — these are the performance results that drive every formulation decision in our equine range. A racehorse in intensive training has fundamentally different micronutrient demands to a breeding mare in late gestation or a pleasure horse at maintenance, and we formulate separately for each rather than splitting the difference with a generic equine premix.

Beyond equine, we formulate for camelids (dromedary, Bactrian camel, alpaca, llama), cervids (red deer, elk), and other specialty livestock where applying a standard ruminant premix creates real risks — particularly copper toxicosis in camelids and selenium margin errors in both species. Bespoke formulation protects the animals and protects you from the liability of a mis-specified generic product.

Equine & specialty nutrition standards

NRC Equine

Formulations benchmarked to National Research Council Nutrient Requirements of Horses (6th edition) for vitamin and mineral targets

GMP Certified

WHO GMP-compliant manufacturing with batch traceability and quality management documentation

Copper-controlled

Species-appropriate copper levels — elevated for equine (vs. ovine); significantly reduced for camelids whose hepatic copper tolerance is substantially lower than ruminants

Selenium-managed

Selenium in equine premixes formulated within NRC Nutrient Requirements of Horses guidelines — the narrow margin between adequacy and toxicity is explicitly managed at every formulation step

BIS IS 1374

Bureau of Indian Standards feed additive regulatory compliance for domestic market supply of equine and specialty livestock premixes

NABL CoAs

Third-party NABL-accredited analysis on every commercial batch — vitamins, minerals, and microbiological

Equine & Specialty Premix Range

Premixes calibrated to species and production purpose

Performance Horse Premix

Vitamin-mineral premix for horses in active training — racing, eventing, showjumping, or endurance. Elevated vitamin E and selenium yeast for muscle integrity and recovery. B-vitamins for energy metabolism support during high-intensity work.

Key nutrients

Vitamin E (high-dose)Selenium (selenium yeast)B-vitamins (B1, B2, B6)Copper, Zinc, Manganese

Breeding Mare Premix

Vitamin-mineral premix for mares from pre-breeding through gestation and lactation. Elevated vitamin A and folic acid support embryonic development and embryo viability. Iodine sustains thyroid function critical to fetal development; selenium and vitamin E support reproductive performance and foal viability at birth.

Key nutrients

Vitamin A (elevated)Vitamin E, D3Folic acidCopper, Zinc, Iodine, Selenium

Foal & Young Horse Premix

Growth-phase vitamin-mineral premix for foals from weaning through 2 years of age. Copper, zinc, and manganese levels calibrated to support skeletal mineralisation and cartilage development, with Cu:Zn ratios aligned to developmental orthopaedic disease research for this age class.

Key nutrients

Copper, Zinc, ManganeseVitamin D3Calcium, PhosphorusSelenium, Biotin

Pleasure / Maintenance Horse Premix

Cost-effective vitamin-mineral premix for non-competing, pleasure, and light work horses on predominantly pasture and hay-based diets. Biotin for hoof integrity in non-intensive management systems.

Key nutrients

Full vitamin-mineral profileBiotin (hoof support)Selenium, Vitamin EBalanced Cu:Zn ratio

Camelid & Deer Premix

Specialty vitamin-mineral premix for camelids (alpaca, llama, camel) and cervids (red deer, elk). Copper is formulated at levels appropriate for camelid hepatic copper sensitivity — substantially below standard ruminant premix copper levels. Formulated to published camelid and cervid nutrition research.

Key nutrients

Copper-restrictedSelenium (NRC-guided)Vitamin D3, EZinc, Iodine, Cobalt

Electrolyte & Recovery Premix

Electrolyte-mineral premix for working and competing horses — for sweat loss replacement during intense exercise. Compatible with water or top-dress administration. Available as concentrated or full-replacement formats.

Key nutrients

Sodium, Potassium, ChlorideMagnesiumVitamin C (antioxidant)B-vitamins

Technical

Species-specific formulation expertise

Equine and specialty livestock nutrition requires formulation expertise that goes beyond standard monogastric or ruminant premix science. Our team has developed premixes for horses, camelids, cervids, and other specialty species where published nutrition science is limited and formulation nuance is everything.

View our R&D capabilities

Selenium management in equine

Selenium in equine premixes is formulated within NRC Nutrient Requirements of Horses guidelines — the narrow margin between dietary adequacy and toxicity is explicitly managed, with published equine selenium toxicosis data referenced at every formulation step.

Copper:zinc ratio management

Copper-to-zinc ratio is critical in equine developmental orthopaedic disease prevention — our foal and young horse premixes are formulated with specific Cu:Zn ratios aligned to published research on osteochondrosis and skeletal mineralisation in growing horses.

Biotin for hoof health

Biotin at 20+ mg per day through the premix for performance and pleasure horses — with documentation referencing published research on biotin supplementation, white line disease, and hoof horn growth rates.

Camelid copper restriction

Alpaca and llama have significantly lower hepatic copper tolerance than other ruminants — camelid premixes are formulated with specific copper limits documented against published research on camelid copper metabolism and hepatic toxicity.

Vitamin E — natural vs synthetic

Natural-source vitamin E (d-alpha-tocopherol) options available for performance horses where superior bioavailability relative to synthetic (dl-alpha-tocopheryl acetate) is required.

Custom blending for nutritionist specifications

Equine nutritionist and veterinary nutrition consultant specifications accommodated — we develop custom formulations to match specific client-defined nutrient profiles.
